If you read the papers, scan the internet or watch the evening news, you may wonder... is there any "good news" anymore? Other than the occasional special interest story, it can be overwhelming and even scary. But there is One voice that echoes through the centuries.

One day Jesus read these words publicly from the prophet Isaiah:

"...THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD..." -Luke 4:18-19

Then Jesus told everyone that He was the fulfillment of this promise from God. From that day on, Jesus offered mercy, forgiveness, healing, freedom and eternal salvation to everyone He met.
