Pain is one of the harsh realities of life. It can suddenly smack you in the face or slowly eat away at your soul. Pain is real and we have to deal with it. It comes from the disappointments, failures and conflicts we all have to face. Pain is an equal opportunity affliction that doesn’t care about your race, education, experience or position in life. As much as we try to avoid it, pain will eventually pop up on our doorstep. Like an unwanted visitor who won’t stop knocking, eventually we have to deal with it.
Over the years I have tried to avoid pain, ignore pain, become immune to pain and even party my way through pain. These were all miserable failures. The reality is that if we ever want to overcome and be free of pain, we must come face to face with its source and begin a healing process towards wholeness and freedom. Life has taught me to acknowledge pain, do what I can to stop the cause and then look it in the face to overcome it. Chances are you have some circumstance or past experience that is still causing you to feel pain or disappointment. In the pages ahead, we will be taking a journey. On this journey we will look at some keys to overcoming life’s pain and disappointments. Pain in life is like the potholes and bumps in the road and is just part of the trip. We can never totally avoid them, but we can make the ride a lot smoother.
They say love is the universal language, but I’m not so sure about that. I’ve met a lot of people who don’t know what love is. When you look around the world there are many people who are filled with hatred or have lived tragic lives and haven’t experienced love. But when someone opens up about their pain, an amazing thing happens: people begin to associate with one another because they’ve been there. Unfortunately, it seems that pain may be the real universal language. Even though pain is a universal experience, there are many who don’t know how to overcome pain and move past it.
Wounded Heart was written over about a 4-5 year period and is meant to take the reader on a journey of healing with the Healer, Jesus Christ. This book has had a far reaching appeal from non-Christian young adults to grandmothers! Pain and emotional wounds don’t go away by themselves and it has helped the unsaved get connected with Jesus and also help others who have been walking with Jesus for decades. Wounded Heart is available in paperback or on e-book and it is available to you to help you walk through the things that God wants you to be released from. You can read the first chapter for free at amazon.com!
