Check back often!

'Tis the Season...."

georgeflores | 29 December, 2008 18:48

Hope you are having a Mighty Christmas season, all12 days of it!

What a joy to hear from friends & family....from you.

Ok...the point is what can we do with the few hours left in'08?

Got rid of a vehicle not being used to a children's charity.

Sending out thank you cards?

Chucking the extra hangers in the closet!

Planning a lunch with friends in town?

Still giving out "whatever Day of Christmas" blessings?

Trying to book a last minute dental visit to use up the few Benefit dollars in the "Benny" account!

Seeking out watch-night services to possibly attend?

Making the Big Twelve List of things from each month to prayfully thank God for again!

What are the remaining hours of '08 like for you?

Have a Sterling New Year & be ready for His call.

George

Quotes & sayings...

georgeflores | 05 June, 2008 18:15

Read a quote supposedly from St. Jerome:

Had He not had something heavenly in His face and His eyes, the apostle never would have followed him at once, nor would those who came to arrest Him have fallen to the ground.

A total commitment is paramount to reaching the ultimate in performance- Coach Tom Flores....no immediate relation.

Here's a quote that gets me through broadcast shifts; "Never, never, never give up" Sir Winston Churchill

And here's the quote from a song by Donnie McLurkin that I sing to myself when I start my day...

"Speak ta' my heart Lord Jesus, Me need ta' hear from You.

And if Ya' don't speak ta' me Jesus, me won't know what ta' do"

What verses, quotes & lyrics are your fav's?

WOW! New Toys!

georgeflores | 28 May, 2008 15:43

Well, here we go. New toys.

And a great new place to hear from you and compare life notes. This post Memorial Day season, with the promise of an exciting summer before us, it'd be good to hear what's on your late Spring and soon Summer to-do list.

Crazy Gas prices are keeping us close to home...what events are  happening in your home town? Hope our home towns don't cut summer activities on us.

Got Plans for Fireworks on the Fourth of July?  Where's the ultimate best site to see the most or best displays?

I'm a movie fan. How many summer blockbusters can a person see in one day? I wonder if someday some theatre will screen all the Indiana Jones movies back to back. When I was small I once sat through a James Bond movie marathon.  What are the most movies you've seen back to back? You know that all seven of the Chronicles of Narnia books are supposed to be made into movies; I'd marathon into them!

Speaking of Marathons: my son and daughter are training for the NYC marathon, my son still waits for his lottery name to be picked so he can run.Have you or your family members been training for something?

Lots of fund raising walks coming up. My wife recently walked a Cystic Fibrosis event to help  some students in her school with that horrible disease have hope for a cure.. Let me know how your own events are shaping up.

Big news in our family is my daughter's marraige. While the newlyweds are visiting South America we're all swapping pictures of the wedding & reception. I'll post a family shot later. Ever have the pre-wedding crazies? If you breath a sigh of relief after the reception finally ends then you had a case! Two married and four to go... thanks for your prayers but how did you handle it all?

Puh-leeze don't forget to PRAY.

It's easy, it's so effective that it's almost scary and besides our God likes conversation with us.

Ok. Gotta get ready for the 11pm to 4:55am overnight shift.

If you're up late or through the night, thanks for listeningin.  Let me hear from you either through this site or
