STAR 99.1 is radio and more, designed to “Connect with the hearts of radio listeners and invite them into the greater story of God.” STAR 99.1 reaches about 600,000 listeners each week with a positive and encouraging mix of contemporary Christian music, entertaining and engaging personalities, inspiring listener phone calls and fun contests. In addition to STAR 99.1, we also program and operate two additional HD radio stations: 99.1-HD2 (a Christian teaching station) and 99.1-HD3 (affectionately known as ‘The Energy’, featuring Christian rock and hip-hop), each with its own Web site. We also produce and operate:
- A growing digital outreach through our Web site at www.star991fm.com
- Three online audio streaming channels
- New media, such as blogging, Twitter, podcasting, and iPhone/iPod apps
- Seasonal concerts and events at the Prudential Center in Newark and the Izod Center in East Rutherford
Despite technology growth and new opportunities, STAR 99.1 still operates from our modest studios and offices on the second and third floors of the Zarephath Christian Church (see picture at right)... where we've been since 1941!"
- 17,000-square-foot building will be at a fifth of the price of new construction. This new building will enable us to serve listeners more effectively by:
- Relocating STAR 99.1 off of our current flood plain to protect our ability to serve all of our listeners during times of weather-related crises
- Increasing the quality and efficiency of our main channel, STAR 99.1, featuring a highly-interactive mix of music, personalities, contests and promotions
- Expanding our additional HD radio frequencies, 99.1-2 (24/7 talk and teaching) and 99.1-3 (Christian rock & hip-hop to reach our youth)
